Suicides Are Up In USA

According to Dr. Melva Green, this preventable condition is something to encourage to be talked about so that people can be helped. She sights such web sites as www.suicide.org and others as very helpful to those concerned about such things. Dr. Green seems to be very competent herself on the subject in a recent appearance on CNN.

Nonprofit Nursing Homes Provide Better Care, Major Study Finds

Here is a very interesting report from the "Science Daily." This sort of information is important for Caregivers...................please check out the report for yourself. We are just bring the reference to you as it was pointed out to us.

Nonprofit Nursing Homes Provide Better Care, Major Study Finds
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/08/090819135442.htm

A major new statistical review of 82 individual research studies has revealed that nonprofit nursing homes deliver, on average, higher quality care than for-profit nursing homes. The authors' meta-analysis shows that nonprofit facilities delivered higher quality care than for-profit facilities for two of the four most frequently reported quality measures: more or higher quality staffing and less prevalence of pressure ulcers, sometimes called bedsores.

Alert AARP Members - Check out Health Action Now on AARP

Why does AARP need this web site? www.healthactionnow.org We are going to reproduce their release statement if you decide to share your story that you have to agree to. But the basic question is why is AARP running TV Ads under the name of "Health Action Now." See link above. Why didn't AARP put it's name on the TV Ad? Did they not want you to know that they sponsored this series of ads? Or, that they are using your money this way. This series is right out of the President's play book.

By the way, the latest President/CEO of AARP is reported to be a big financial supporter of President Obama. (How did he get to be President of AARP? I didn't see something that said they were looking for a new President.) He should step down. Doesn't AARP members deserve someone who is looking out for their interests? Lots of questions here. I will have more to say about it. I will put the Release Statement in a separate post because it is very long and troubling.

All of this doesn't feel like AARP, at least not the one I have looked to to support Seniors in this country....it feels like a control by President Obama's Office. Maybe that is why the President said that the AARP was On Board with his Health Care Reform and then had to retract it...........well, it looks like it will shortly unless you do something about it soon.

Reminder To Congress - Something That AARP Should Be Doing

We are just reminding you that you should "Do the right thing" and reinstate the COL for Social Security Recipients. Yes, I know you need to redo the method of calculation of COL but this group needs the money. Did Congress get a raise this year?

Congress can seem to find Money for almost everyone else but the SSR's. And, why are we not hearing anything about Dental and Eye Care Coverage in Health Care Reform or is it Health Insurance Reform? Which is it now? Do you people at the AARP Executive Suite know? Do you in Congress know? Which is it or is it both? That is part of the reason that people have questions and are upset?

Two other things - will all in Congress agree to reading Bills before they vote on them? And, will Congress agree to drop their Special Health Care Coverage and accept whatever they vote in for the rest of us? NO? If the answer is so, then why are you surprised that people are upset with you?

Also, you need to make it easier to communicate with you..........I think there needs to be a standard easy way to do that for all of you.

AARP - you need to step up............be something more then the Red Carpet Keepers for President Obama. Show some care for the members of the Organization you work for. Other wise, just go work at the White House.

Thanks To Glenn Beck - Government Computer Programs Of Concern

Of special interest to people over 45. What is the Government looking for? Even some State Governments.

Check out this entry on Becks web site and then go ahead and do some research regarding other sites. http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/28815/

This is really disconcerting. Why would they take this approach to obtaining public information?

There just seems to be any number of things that are getting stranger....such as the upcoming Census being controlled from the White House? It never has been in the past. Why now? More later.............rrt1616@aol.com

ALERT - We can not recommend AARP these days. We have made several requests of them which they have not answered. It seems that the Top People at AARP are just a rubber stamp of the Obama administration. They do not seem to be working for those over 50 years old anymore.

Dental & Eye Care As Part Of Health Care Reform?

"Why isn't Dental and Eye Care part of the Health Care Reform. Don't you guys get Dental and Eye Care coverage? So, why wouldn't it be part of Health Care Reform for the rest of us?"

I asked one of my Senators this question. With this post I am asking the rest of the Congress.

President's Person Misleads by Saying AARP Approves His Health Care Reform Plan

Doughnut Hole Drugs Is The Same Until July,2010

Isn't that amazing! The Drug companies will be DONATING the Drugs or 1/2 starting in July, 2010 maybe. Now, the COL can be cut out from under Social Security right now, it isn't maybe and probably not 2010 either....don't have the ruling on that yet...(care to take a guess?) So, Drug Companies are DONATING the half, maybe......um, I guess that means they will get a Tax Deduction...(just a guess) My question is "Why couldn't the Whole Doughnut Hole" be covered? Will it ever be? Will COL ever come back? It is easy to pick on the Seniors................so, they do. Oh, by the way, the 1/2 isn't official, it is only a possible part of "Health Care Reform." So, you see, the only thing that is for sure is that the "COL" is out for at least this year. Don't see anyone fighting for it..........why is that? We can give all that money to foreign countries but not to our Seniors. Let's bring some of those dollars home and treat our people right. No Cost of Living For Social Security This Year

The administration very quietly announced that there would be no cost of living increase for this year. Seniors were already behind the cost of living before this, why make them suffer more? In watching the various things going on within this blazing speed administration who give preference to the results of Facebook, Tweeter and YouTube where you don't find the seniors, it is clear that this administration isn't going to be even handed to those over 50 years old. There is a need to give more attention to what AARP is trying to do, the largest and most significant organization trying to be of help to Seniors. I could be wrong but I don't think that the Chairmen of AARP is on any of the significant Presidents advisory groups. Why not? I urge you to educate yourself and make sure your opinions are heard. Where Are The Health Industry Price Lists??

What other industry doesn't have a public Price List? Why do we tolerate it? There is no opportunity to shop hospitals, doctors or other medical services before you need them and now we are attempting to put into place a system that will assure you will not be able to shop the services. What is the motivation of this? $$$$$$$'s by all the players and the public pays for it. Isn't it time to put a halt to this?
